NOVA ARTISTA / NEW ARTIST MAME-DIARRA NIANG ©MerlijnDoomerni A GALERIA LUME tem o prazer de anunciar a representação de Mame-Diarra Niang, artista autodidata, criada entre a Costa do Marfim, Senegal e França. Em suas criações, ela opta por explorar a temática da ‘plasticidade do território’. A primeira exposição individual de Niang, Sahel Gris, aconteceu no Institut Français de Dakar (2013). Sua primeira exposição individual na África do Sul, At the Wall, aconteceu na galeria Stevenson em Joanesburgo (2014). Mame-Diarra Niang foi destaque em "Histórias Recentes / Fotografia e Vídeo Arte Africana Contemporânea" da Coleção Walther em Huis Marseille, Holanda (2018); Afinidades Afetivas, 33ª Bienal de São Paulo (2018); Strange Attractors, um projeto de publicação curatorial lançado na 10ª Bienal de Berlim (2018). Outras exposições coletivas incluem O Triângulo Atlântico, 11ª Bienal do Mercosul em Porto Alegre, Brasil (2018); Espaços desconstruídos, memórias pesquisadas no 11º Rencontres de Bamako (2017); Histórias recentes - Nova fotografia africana na coleção Walther em New- Ulm (2017); a 12ª Bienal de Dakar (2016) SEX em Stevenson, Joanesburgo (2016); Armory Focus: African Perspectives - Spotlighting Artistic Practices of Global Contemporaries no The Armory Show, Nova York (2016); The Lay of the Land: New Photography from Africa no The Walther Collection Project Space em Nova York (2015); Nine Artists at Stevenson na Cidade do Cabo (2015); 11ª Bienal de Dakar (2014), e Le Piéton de Dakar no Institut Français of Dakar (2013). Recentemente, Mame-Diarra Niang conduziu uma residência intitulada "Black Hole" no espaço do quinto andar da galeria Stevenson em Joanesburgo. Niang’s first solo show, Sahel Gris,took place at the Institut Français of Dakar in 2013. Mame-Diarra Niang recently conducted a residency titled Black Hole at the fifth-floor space of Stevenson Johannesburg. The residency took the form of a laboratory in which she explored this term using video as a medium and as a research tool.
